Whirlpool/KitchenAid, a Fortune 500 company came to us with a challenging but interesting project. They wanted to create awareness among current KitchenAid Stand Mixer customers about the myriad attachments available for the device. The icon of baking, the Stand Mixer becomes the keystone to many people’s kitchens but the flexibility of it’s possibilities is not fully understood. The objective was to launch an interactive community portal that combines the best of Facebook and YouTube into a lush experience. MicroSoft developed an in-kitchen touchscreen computer appliance that also featured a laser based virtual keyboard. The site featured interactive FLASH-based video tutorials, rich html recipes, chatrooms, discussion boards, interactive cookbook and user-driven secure account content management & communications. We delivered and Kitchenaid applauded, “great work, you guys accomplished more in two months than another firm has in 2 years at 1/10th the cost. Thank you!". This project for KitchenAid represents the most detailed, content rich flexible web community we’ve ever produced. It has led to development of other compelling community sites that build customer conviction and retention that is trackable and justifiable through a detailed web-based administration interface.
